On these two days when we--as sons and daughters--honor mothers and fathers for their love, guidance and protection, it is stunning what so-called civilized people will countenance between parent and child. The "right" to spawn or abort touted by the "left" has more currency than the obligations of parenting. Once the child is born, political correctness dictates: it can be warehoused while careers are pursued; it can be drowned while tantrums are vented; and it can be strapped with explosives while nation-building is waged. It. Seems to me, political correctness is very bad parenting and very bad for children.
What exactly is the argument by Palestinians that differentiates the Palestinians using their children as bomb delivery devices from drug lords using children as drug mules--filling their little stomachs with balloons containing narcotics? Not even really oppressed peoples, such as from Poland/France/Etc. under Hitler, or the Afghan people under the Taliban, blew up the opposition using their own children.
There's even a bounty on the heads of Palestinian children. Palestinian parents can "parent" their children to be mules and claim a financial prize from Sadam Hussein. Where are the protests by Palestinian parents against this unholy exchange of money for child? Where are the loud mouth left wingers in protest of this behaviour?
If you simply do not understand how one civilization can be superior to another, ask yourself: Who would you want as a parent? An American. A Taliban leader. An Israeli. A Palestinian. Successful parents create children who contribute to society, not blow themselves up. It does not take a village to raise a child. It takes parents to raise a village. So, what does the left wing find so appalling that they can barely contain themselves when it comes to raising children? Without two-parent families, without one stay-at-home parent, without limits, without lessons, children may grow up insensitive, But look at the vile disgust for the fictional book authored by two ex-nannies about a fictional nanny and the fictional woman she substitutes for as mommy. Some of the women of Barbara Walter's The View practically choked on their fury. They seemed to be unable to reconcile that the book is a fictional story. Fiction or not, these hip, left-wing women of The View wanted no view of what lies behind the sad affair of leaving your children to a nanny, regardless of how good the nanny. So what's so bad that the exemplary women of The View would claw their eyes out to hide from? It is this: Dr. Laura Schlessinger, ridiculed for supporting stay-at-home motherhood, silenced an entire Donahue audience, foaming at the mouth against each suggestion to cross their legs, with one query to the quick: "How many of you would rather be raised by a nanny, au pair or day care provider?" [No one raised their hands.] "Then why do it to your children?"
